Lambs Canyon Trail is a wonderful family hike
If you are in the Salt Lake City area, and if you enjoy hiking or just the beauty of nature, it is worth planning a half day to visit the Lambs Canyon Area.
Located about 12 miles East of Salt Lake, on the Rt 80 East heading toward Park City, lies this beautiful canyon with a moderately easy trail for hiking.
The drive into the canyon takes you to about 6,300 feet above sea level, and if you finish the hike to the top you will be at about 8,100 feet. We were surprised that on this beautiful Saturday in September we encountered only a few other hiking groups. Our group of 9 family members included 5 adults and 4 children, and the hike was a pleasant trek for all... well we did carry the 18 month old toddler part of the way. A beautiful stream along the path added the sound of trickling water and the variety of animal tracks gave us plenty to examine and discuss.
An incredible trail lined with trees, wildflowers, animal tracks, creeks, and incredible views. Visit it when you are in the area, you will be glad for the beautiful adventure.
